Spider Cage Therapy
What Is the SpiderCage?
The SpiderCage—often referred to as the Universal Exercise Unit (UEU) or Multifunctional Therapy Unit (MTU)—is a specialized therapy framework that allows children to practice balance, movement, and strength exercises with maximum dynamic support and freedom.
Utilizing a secure harness system connected to adjustable elastic tension cords, the unit provides multi-directional support. This setup stabilizes the body in proper alignment, enabling children to safely perform functional tasks and experience upright positions that might otherwise be difficult to achieve independently. At Strength Recovery Performance (SRP), SpiderCage therapy is customized within individualized treatment plans to match each child’s unique physical goals and developmental needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Paediatric therapy focuses on helping infants, children, and young adults develop the essential motor, cognitive, speech, and functional skills needed for daily life. At SRP, our team works to enhance physical strength, movement control, communication, and independence in a supportive, fun environment.
If you notice your child struggling with motor milestones (like sitting, crawling, or walking), coordination, balance, fine motor skills, speech clarity, or everyday routines, therapy can help. We offer comprehensive initial assessments to pinpoint your child’s unique needs and guide you toward the right therapy plan.
A formal referral from a GP or pediatrician is generally not required to access our private services. However, if you plan to claim funding or rebates through programs such as Medicare or NDIS, a doctor’s referral or specific plan documentation may be needed.
The initial appointment focuses on an in-depth evaluation. Our therapists assess your child’s range of motion, strength, posture, balance, and developmental milestones while discussing your goals as a family. Based on these findings, we create a tailored treatment plan tailored specifically to your child.
Session durations vary based on the specific program, service type, and your child’s individual needs. Typically, standard weekly sessions range from 45 to 60 minutes, while intensive sessions are structured around customizable timeframes.
